I love wedding photography, I also love families, newborns and births, but really there’s one thing that connects all of them that is my real obsession: people and their lives at every stage. So, any opportunity that comes along for me to document relationships and communities is one I’m going to jump at. Recently I was hired by Copper Reed Studio for a series of projects about Nursing Homes in the West of Ireland. Their client wanted photographs for their website and marketing but they didn’t want generic stock photographs of models, they wanted to portray actual residents and carers in the actual homes. Of course, I was delighted when they contacted me and we spent a couple of days in the homes quietly observing and capturing their lives.
